For me, rust and patina symbolize the "poetry of transience", which is fascinating, mysterious and colourful. In my own cycle of works I have dedicated myself for years to the „rusting“ of pictures on canvas. Oxidation, which radiates its own morbid charm, exerts a special faszination for me. The process of oxidation ultimately symbolizes the process of change to which everything on our earth is subjected. The emergence of something new out of decay makes the permanent change clear and is ulitmately reflected in my works. With a partly mult-layered picuture composition, vividly designed textures and a rich palette of colour nuances, I would like to lead the viewer into a new world of perception, especially since in our time of permanent stimulus satiation, the view of details seems to get lost. Away from idealized aesthetics, rust and patina as a pictorial means of expression find their very own beauty in my works and depending on the incidence of light, present themselves in a firework of color tones. Natural metamorphosis, color and form, material and creative processes form a symbiosis.
